Or as we like to think of it - What's Noose?
July 1, 2009 - Entering our eighth yeard, the Goblinville slab-tab shows 18,560 cadavers have rolled through our macabre manse. At midnight on 06/30/2008, the counter showed 189,943 hits from inception. Thanks for visiting!
July 1, 2007 - Entering into our seventh year, Goblinville's casualty list showed 26,121 mortals had passed through our haunted portals. At midnight on 6/30/2007, the counter showed the site has had 171,383 hits from inception.
July 1, 2006 - Entering into our sixth year, Goblinville's front gates showed 23,031 mortals had passed through our haunted portals. At midnight on 6/30/2006, the counter showed the site has had 145,262 hits from inception.
July 1, 2005 - For our half-decade mark, Goblinville's dead count...I mean head count, was 25,036. At midnight on 6/30/2005, the counter showed the site has had 122,231 hits from inception.
July 1, 2004 - For year four of Goblinville's existence as it's own stand-alone web domain, we've had 69.145 hits. At midnight on 6/30/2004, the counter showed the site having had 97,195 hits from inception. In other works, just in year four alone, we had more than double the number of hits as the site had in total for years one through three combined.
July 1, 2003 - For year three of Goblinville's existence, we've had 12,021 hits. Since its move to its own stand-alone domain name three years ago, this site had 28,050 hits. WOW!!!
July 1, 2002 - Drum roll please - and the counter rolled over to show 16,029 hits at midnight last night. That 11,016 visitors to the website in year two.
June 29, 2002 - Here we are, a mere two days from the two-year anniversary of this website hitting the internet. True, it was in existence for four years prior to that as an A-O-HELL website, but http://www.goblinville.com as an entirely separate domain burst onto the internet right after the stroke of midnight on July 1, 2000. In its first year, the site had 5,013 visitors (interesting that the last two digits are 13, huhn?) and it looks like we're going to break 11,000 visitors between July 1, 2001 and June 30, 2002 since as of this moment, mid-afternoon on Saturday, there have been 15,966 - that's more than twice as many visitors in the second year than the first. WOW! And thanks to everyone who has visited the site and sent the great comments - I do appreciate each and every one. And...I've reclaimed the original website name (see 7/2/2000 notes below) - the folks that stole it failed to renew their registration and, like a vulture, I was poised to swoop back in on it. Heh heh heh. I'll keep the current name, but if you try the original name, you'll be automatically, seamlessly redirected to Goblinville. Who knows - the old name might come in handy some day for some reason...but until then, I've got it sewn up for a decade.
June 8, 2002 - I've failed to keep this section updated much in the last 8 months. I've done a little tweaking here & there, a little fix here, a little addition there. Now that we're moving closer to the Halloween season, there'll be some more additions and changes rolling out. Also, I recently added Harry Potter and Lemony Snicket books to the online store, so check those out.
October 15, 2001 - Some new fonts, some new wallpapers, some new awards, some new additions to the Boo-tique and most importantly - - - we hit TEN THOUSAND visitors around the 10th, and looks like we'll easily surpass ELEVEN THOUSAND by the end of the month - can you believe it? 5,000 hits between 7/1/00-6/30/01, and then 6000 hits between 7/1-10/31/01 - woo hoo!
August 2001 - I've added more fonts and redid the example graphics on all fonts for a more consistent look.
July 2001 - We completed our first year with the new domain name with just over 5000 visitors (5013 to be exact!). Other changes and additions in July included:
Since we're down to less than 100 days until the big night, I've begun adding goodies to the Prop Shop - flying bats, pteranodons, screaming trapped rats and dropping spiders - just what every well-haunted house needs! So checkout The Boo-Tique today!
The Wicked Wallpapers page was added with lots of Haunted Mansion wallpapers and one of The Munsters with more to be added shortly
A few new "treats" have been added to Dastardly Downloads . . .
Monster Links - not links to monster, but instead a huge assortment of links to haunts & Halloween related websites with more to come shortly . . .
October 2000 - I've put some more funny stories online - longer than jokes, but none the less enjoyable - and the Epitaphs and Characters pages are up a little earlier than I had planned - they're still in the process of being organized but the information's there.
September 5, 2000 - Phase one of The Goblinville Boo-tique, went online with blacklights, music and party supplies - coming soon - more music, movies and books! Stay tuned!
August 5, 2000 - Over the last three weeks we've received a few more awards, joined a couple more webrings and added The End of the Raven by Edgar Allen Poe's Cat that one of our visitors found and forwarded to us, as well as the usual tweaks and updates here and there around the Goblinville website
July 10, 2000 - I've revamped (pun most definitely intended!) the fonts section. So far, I've only used Freefrm721 and Creeper on the website in text. Download and install both and you'll see how the pages change a little bit. Of course, those fonts and others from my selection have been used to create graphics here and there around the site, but when used in graphics, you don't need the font installed on your computer to see them as intended. Only text (like this page) appears differently when I've specified a font to be used.
- as of today, our old familiar AOL website has been re-christened GOBLINVILLE.COM with its own domain on the world wide web. I finally threw in the towel after having to deal with continual upload problems with AOL, files disappearing, problems with visitors accessing the site and AOL's ever-changing policy on how much storage space users gets. First its 2 megs, then its 3 megs, then I was supposed to have 7 megs for setting up a site at "Hometown.AOL.Com" and then suddenly I'm back to 2 megs. And why, you may ask, is it now GOBLINVILLE.COM instead of the more familiar name? Someone snagged that domain name shortly before I went to register it . . . after I'd been using it as my copyrighted name on AOL for four + years. Rather than hassle with trying to reclaim what I feel was truly and rightfully mine, I just came up with a new, albeit similar name.
Sincerely yours,
